Sanctuary of Hope Prayer and Retreat Center is an inter- denominational, "inter-faith," 501 C 3 that is dedicated to expressing Christ's love through the practice of hospitality. SOH hosts retreats for individuals and groups of up to 50 people for daytime only visits and for overnight stays. SOH thrives on donations of time, talent, and resources.
Amongst the people who contribute to this cause are live-in volunteers. In exchange for 20 hours per week minimum volunteer time, the live-in receives a room, food, and utilities. The live-in volunteer participates in community prayer in the morning and evening when schedule permits as well as community meals when possible. Yet, the primary role of the live-in is to welcome the guests by communicating with the guests who are making a retreat in our facility.
Sanctuary of Hope is a beautiful and peaceful place to live especially for people who seek structured time with God and/or regular withdraw from the business of the world to gain sensitivity to God's presence. For a seminary student this is a great opportunity to step outside of the normal "Nazarene" way of expressing the Christian faith and into (especially) Roman Catholic and other expressions. There are several openings to fill, each of which varies according to your talents, abilities, and willingness to contribute to the work of the community.
