Minister of Youth and Young Adults

Summary of Responsibilities

The Minister of Youth and Young Adults will be a Christian who has a passion for leading youth and young adults to a deeper relationship with God. She/he believes that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the Living God, and has declared him to be her/his Lord and Savior, and, as such, strives by God’s grace to live as a faithful follower of Jesus.

Youth are those 7^th grade through 12^th grade; young adults are those out of high school through age 30 (upper limit being flexible) 

Hours: 20 per week

 Youth and Young Adult Responsibilities include:

• Guiding youth and young adults in their growth as Christians through regular programming such as weekly meetings, service opportunities, recreational events and Sunday School as well as special events such as mission trips, workshops, camp, concerts
• Developing a relationship with the youth and young adults of our church and neighborhood through regular contact (electronic, snail mail and in-person)
• Working in cooperation with the rest of the ministry team to involve youth and young adults in all aspects of the church, including regular participation in worship as deacons, musicians, etc., service with all-church mission opportunities, and church gatherings
• Planning and oversight of youth fund-raising activities
• Provide age-appropriate activities for single young adults including Bible studies, social activities and mission opportunities
• Regular communication with the parents of youth
• Administrative duties related to the above, including planning, preparation and publicity

Specific youth programs currently in place:

• Weekly youth CREW meetings (Wednesdays), service opportunities and recreational events
• Sunday School (10 a.m. Sunday)
• Annual trip to Silver Dollar City
• Annual mission trip
• Involvement in Regional youth ministry opportunities (camp, Mid Winter, and other opportunities)

This ministry works in cooperation with other members of the ministry team under the care of the Pastoral Relations Committee.
