Coordinator of Programs for Young Adults

Country Club United Methodist Church

is seeking a part-time staff person who will coordinate and build programs for the younger adults in our church.  The goals of the position are to: (1) better serve the spiritual, personal and social needs of our young adults (ages 20 to 40); (2) attract additional younger adults to our congregation and retain those who are presently members; (3) help the Church leadership understand and address the needs and interests of younger adults; (4) serve as a representative of the Church in community activities related to younger adults.

 

It is anticipated that the responsibilities of the Coordinator and volunteers will be to:

     - stay in touch with the Church’s younger adults and their friends,

     - organize projects and activities in response to interests of younger adults,

     - provide Sunday morning programs for younger adults,

     - plan service projects and special events approximately bimonthly.

 

The Coordinator will evaluate the programs and activities and report regularly to the Pastor and Church Council.

 

Qualifications of the Coordinator include:

     - experience in working successfully with programs for younger adults,

     - educational preparation and qualifications for spiritual leadership,

     - availability to work most Sunday mornings and some Saturdays and evenings,

     - ability to organize and lead volunteer activities,

     - knowledge of the interests, concerns and needs of younger adults.

 

Salary will be in keeping with similar positions in other churches.
