Development-Database Specialist

To assist in the area of data input and data management. The general description would be data entry. Computer skills a must, proficient grammar and spelling skills, able to follow specific instructions. 
Must be able to work well with people. Needs to display a background of being neat and conscientious.

Family Ministries-Community Assistance and Follow-up Coordinator

A mature Christian who possesses a willingness to serve the Lord in a ministry that deals primarily with low-income people, and able to share the gospel. Must have a compassionate heart for the poor and hurting of our society. Must be able to deal tactfully and work well with people, exhibits good judgment, sensitivity, compassion, oral and written communication skills, motivational skills, and can demonstrate the ability to teach. Demonstrates a background of neatness, accuracy, and dependability with a high level of personal integrity. Have good organizational skill and the ability to keep accurate records--computer skills a must. Having a college education and/or work experience in a related field would be beneficial.

 

Men's Ministries Cook

An adequate amount of food must be prepared according to the number of people in the shelter up to 250. Provide a friendly, warm atmosphere for shelter guests, staff and volunteers. To maintain Health Department standards for cleanliness in kitchen and dining room. Cooking experience - preferably quantity cooking; must be able to work well with people, clients, staff & volunteers; must have a heart for the ministry; must be willing & able to supervise CLP participants while at the same time training them for future employment.  Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.

 

Operations- Thrift Store Manager

To reflect the love of Christ while providing low-income individuals with quality clothing and necessary items for free or minimal cost and raising money through store sales and revenues for the benefit of the mission. Attention to detail.  Some computer skills.  Have knowledge of current collectable & vintage items.  Some experience setting displays helpful.  Average physical strength.

Administration- On Call Secretary/Receptionist

To act as "first impression" to guests and donors, facilitate ease for public communication with City Union Mission staff and program. The hours would be from 8-4, Monday through Friday. Qualifications: Must have superb communication and organization skills.  Must be familiar with office equipment and operations.  Computer literate.  Flexible personality in order to work in an often changing environment. Exhibit good judgment, sensitivity, a demonstrable background of neatness, accuracy and dependability.  Must be able to deal tactfully with the public.  Detail oriented. Must understand all departments throughout the Mission and how each works within the organization.

Family Ministries - On-Call Hotline Operator

Answer switchboard calls for all activities at the Family Center, maintain Hotline for the Homeless calls and update shelter availability.  Must have a compassionate heart for the poor and hurting of our society.  Exhibits good judgment, sensitivity, and a demonstrable background of neatness, accuracy and dependability.  Must be able to deal tactfully with the public.  Training in telephone etiquette and proper receptionist decorum required, Must be familiar with office equipment and operations and computer literate. Able to work in a fast paced, emotionally demanding environment.

 

Family Ministries-Youth Program Coordinator

The provide spiritual leadership to High School students in the areas of college and trade school preparation, job skills enhancement and social and spiritual growth. A born again Christian who models Christ-like behavior and is able to lead others into spiritual maturity. High school graduate, college desired, with special training
in youth/children related activities, of Bible, storytelling, arts and crafts, soul winning, recreational/athletic and child discipline. Have a valid CDL drivers license with a clear driving record.

Family Ministries - Recovery Counselor

Addiction counseling is provided for clients in the Family Shelter within the ministry of Counseling and Education.  This ministry is a part of Family Services and provides counseling to men, women and children in the New Life Program, the Family shelter and the community. A born again, mature Christian who is able to lead others into spiritual maturity, one who models Christ-like behavior and has a good knowledge of the Scripture.

Degree in social work, education or pastoral counseling, prefer an individual who is licensed in addiction counseling.

Family Ministries - Security Booth/Hotline Operator – Evening – PT

Answer calls (switchboard and Hotline for the Homeless) and monitor building activities

from the security booth. Excellent organization and communication skills. Ability to record

information accurately and neatly Ability to work in fast paced, emotionally demanding environment Sensitivity

and compassion for poor and hurting in society

Farm - Christian Life Program Resident ManagerTo assist the Christian Life Program Staff in maintaining order and encouraging men on the CLP

Provide staff coverage after normal office hours. Perform client room searches bi-monthly.

Help maintain order by reminding clients of program rules and requirements, reporting violations to the Administrator in a timely fashion. Prepare vacant rooms for client occupancy. Provide input for staff meetings and client evaluations, as assist in client conflict resolution as necessary. As part of the ministry team, may be called upon for other tasks as needed.

 

Men’s Ministries – Christian Life Resident Manager

To assist the Christian Life Program Staff in maintaining order and encouraging men on the CLP. Must be a decisive person, dependable, one who exhibits good judgment. Must be a person who works well with people, concerned about their needs and exhibits ability to motivate, able to provide tough love where appropriate. Minimum bachelors degree in Bible/theology/ministry or in social work or human services. Case management experience preferred.

 

Men’s Ministries – On Call Shelter Manager

Insure orderly procedure in all areas of the shelter ministry (Dayroom, chapel/dining room, dorm areas, and outside of the building).  To insure orderliness among the men on the Christian Life Program and their activities.

Preferably a minister, but will consider others, ability to follow procedures and guidelines, must have a heart for the homeless, experience in some form of supervision, some experience in drug and alcohol counseling, experience in biblical counseling. Basic skills needed.

 

Men’s Ministries – Evening Security

Monitor those who enter the Men's Center to make sure the building is secure. Must have a demonstrable background of spiritual maturity, sensitivity and compassion for the poor and hurting of our society. Superb organization and communication skills are required. Needs to have good judgment, sensitivity, and a background of neatness, accuracy and dependability. Must be able to deal tactfully with the public. Applicant must be able to work in a fast paced, emotionally demanding environment. Must be familiar with office equipment and operations and computer literate.

 Men’s Ministries - Nurse

To provide medical services for all clients of the City Union Mission that will provide comfort, promote healing and increase their knowledge of methods to prevent illness. Help maintain Clinic hours divided between Family Center and Men’s Center.  To assess and treat acute and chronic illness within the parameters of nursing.  When a nursing diagnoses indicates, referrals will be made to physicians or other health professionals at the appropriate facility. Help make decisions to place men in the infirmary  based on assessment and information provided by physicians and/or other health professionals. To oversee and work with volunteer nurses, doctors and dentists. To work with CLP team to promote better health care knowledge for men on program. Help maintain all supplies and medications needed for the clinic.
