Best Practices: Youth Ministry

Back-2-School School Prayer Tour

Load the church van and drive to all the schools represented in the attending group and/or all the schools represented in the youth group. Circle up in the front of the school and pray for your students who attend the school; then, ask the students to pray for their school, classmates, teachers and administrators.  It's a great way to start the school year and to help your students see their school through the eyes of Christ - as a missionary on their campus!

Community Journal
In our youth ministry we have begun a journal to chronicle the spiritual journey of the young people in our ministry.  We went to Borders and bought a sketch book without lines so that students could draw pictures as well as write.  It is our goal that this will be a tool be which students become connected to each other as they journey together.  This includes students in the youth ministry today as well as students in years to come.
